Legal Hold API

The Legal Hold API allows creating and removing litigation holds in the system programmatically. The legal hold functionality is also available via the standard user interface of the system. Legal holds created with the API are available through the API and vice versa. In order to use the API, the application user requires the same permissions as the users for the user interface. The API works slightly differently from the user interface:

  • The deletion/removal of legal holds does not require approval through the API.
  • By creating a new legal hold via the API, the application can automatically apply to both historical and future conversations. On the user interface, a separate labeling or case rule has to be defined.
  • Only the API allows enabling or disabling the system-wide legal hold configuration setting.
