The Verba Unified recorder service allows you to record IP Trade calls using the RTP forking feature.

Step 3 - Add recorded users / traders to Verba

This can be done manually (Extension list) or using Active Directory Synchronization. In case of IP Trade recording, instead of configuring the SIP addresses and directory numbers as recorded extensions, the user / trader IDs have to be configured. When adding (or synchronizing) the user IDs, the Type setting of the extensions has to be set to User/Agent ID. For TPO-based recording the name of the TPO has to be added as a recorded extension.

Configuration limitations:

Verba is capable of mid-call fail over outlined in Configuring advanced network-based recording

This configuration is not recommended with IP Trade as it has built-in fail over configuration, and using this configuration may lead to the following issues:

  • Time mismatch: If the recorder servers clocks are not in sync, the media and CDR records will be recorded with different timestamps, and the playback will not work as expected.
  • Mid-call failover during network issue/recorder issue: Using 2N recording with this setup will cause a media failover, as the two recorders are not independent.
    • TPO recording specific issue: during the fail over process all recording sessions has to be re-established with the TPO, and this may cause IP Trade system to get stuck and needs a restart to recover
