Playback Requirements

Overview

Playback of different types of media has certain requirements and limitations in Verba.
The topics below explain which browsers, systems, extensions are supported.

Instant Messaging

This type of modality is supported in any browser, uses HTML to display the messages.

Voice

Internet Explorer

Windows Media Player ActiveX plugin required.

Other Browsers

Verba Media Streamer and Content Service must be activated and started.
To do this navigate to Administration > Verba Servers.  Select the Media Repository and click on the Service Activation tab. Browse for the Verba Media Streamer and Content service and click on the gear icon at the end of the line.
Click on the Service Control tab and start the Verba Media Streamer and Content service by clicking on the Start button.

Video

Internet Explorer

Windows Media Player ActiveX plugin required.
Verba codec installed on the computer that is used for the playback. (If the video has been transcoded to MP4 or WMV, then this is not needed)
